Art lovers to have their fancy tickled April 23 by FHSU Art Department

Artists and art lovers alike are invited to attend two events sponsored by the Fort Hays State University Department of Art on Friday, April 23.

A 12:30-1:30 p.m. lunch-time lecture, "Insights into the Stroup Collection's Scroll Paintings," will be held in the Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art.

Dr. Nancy Wilkinson, associate professor art history at Oklahoma State University, will discuss the imagery and themes found in the Scroll Paintings, currently on display in the gallery.

Beverages will be provided by the Creative Arts Society and attendants may bring a sack lunch.

Beginning at 7 p.m. in Rarick Hall, room 114, the department will host "Contemporary Pakistani and Indian Painting: Satire, Subversion and Self-Identity."

A slide lecture of the work will be given by contemporary and 20th-century south Asian art specialist Dr. Marcella Sirhandi, assistant professor of art history at Oklahoma State University.
