FHSU announces Pilot Award nominees

Nominations have been announced for the 2000 Pilot Award, an annual recognition of an outstanding Fort Hays State University faculty member.

Members of the senior class nominated 11 faculty members, who will be judged on the criteria of professional excellence, standards of personal conduct and commitment to good teaching.

Nominees will be honored at the annual Graduate Faculty Brunch at 11:30 a.m. on May 12. The brunch is presented by the Alumni Association. The award will be presented at the FHSU commencement ceremony on May 13.

The nominees:

Professors: Dr. Michael Kallam, teacher education.

Associate Professors: Dr. Eileen Deges Curl, nursing; Dr. Dale McKemey, business administration; Dr. Richard Peters, dean of the College of Business and Leadership.

Assistant Professors: Myra Jo Bates, business administration; Judy Caprez, director of social work; Dr. Jim Krob, health and human performance; Howard Peters, communication; Dr. Robert Rook, history.

Instructors: Marla Staab, clinical coordinator at the Herndon Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, communication disorders.
