Fourteen Fort Hays State University faculty members have been granted tenure or promoted. The tenures and promotions begin with the 2004 fiscal year.
Five faculty members received tenure and were promoted from assistant professor to associate professor: Dr. Brittany Bock, Department of Agriculture; Dr. Debra Mercer, Department of Teacher Education and assistant dean of professional services; Kimberly Riffel, Department of Nursing; and Dr. Duane Shepherd, Department of Health and Human Performance.
Of the seven faculty members who were promoted, six were promoted from associate professor to professor: Dr. Paula Boire, Department of Music; Dr. Jeff Briggs, Department of Health and Human Performance and interim dean of the College of Health and Life Sciences; Dr. Liane Connelly, Department of Nursing and assistant to the department chair; Dr. Chris Crawford, Department of Leadership Studies and assistant Provost for quality management; Dr. Sue Strohkirch, Department of Communication Studies; and Dr. Steven Trout, Department of English.
Kim Stewart, Department of Technology Studies, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor.
Two faculty members were awarded tenure: Joseph Chretien, assistant professor of technology studies, and Jennifer Wagner, assistant professor of allied health.
They will be recognized at the annual Tenure and Promotion Reception in April.
