Scientific Research Society of FHSU seeks entries for 4th annual Science Research Showcase

The Fort Hays Chapter of the Scientific Research Society (Sigma Xi), the Office of the Provost, and the Graduate School have announced that they will sponsor the fourth annual Science Research Showcase, to be held on Wednesday April 28, 2004 in the Memorial Union.

Both faculty and students at FHSU are invited to display posters at the Showcase describing their scientific research projects and results. Some or all of the printing costs for posters will be covered. Refreshments will be provided, and cash prizes for the best posters in various categories will be awarded.

The last three Showcase events were very successful, according to Dr. Elmer Finck, chair of the Department of Biological Sciences.

"We hope this year we get even more excellent posters illustrating the interesting and exciting scientific research going on here at FHSU," said Finck.

"If you have any students doing science projects, please tell them about the Showcase and urge them to submit a poster," he said. "If you are a faculty member or student doing research, this is an ideal opportunity to show off your work and get some feedback from your colleagues."

More detailed information, including specifications for posters and deadlines, will be provided later in the semester.
