Rodeo team members display skills in 'Showcase of Rodeo' at Kansas State Fair

Fort Hays State University sent 11 students to the Kansas State Fair to appear in "The Showcase of Rodeo."

The students competed against fellow students from other universities in Kansas as well as members of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

Rodeo team members that demonstrated their talents include Austin Boggs, Winfield junior (saddle bronc); Travis Camac, Augusta freshman (steer wrestling); Katie Gill, Abilene junior (barrel racing); Haley Hazen, Protection sophomore (breakaway roping); Wacey Kovarik, Rose, NE junior (bareback); Tanner Nolan, Tribune sophomore (bull riding); Randy Purdue, Enterprise sophomore (calf roping); Karli Sherwood, Holly, CO., senior (breakaway roping); Shane Sommers, Ellis senior (bull riding); Abby Wagaman, Emporia sophomore (barrel racing); and Chase Warne, Mankato freshman.
