Ushering in the new semester, Fort Hays State University music faculty will showcase their own musical talents during the FHSU Music Department's 14th annual Faculty Showcase Recital at 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 16, in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall.
" It's an opportunity to showcase the talents of faculty all together as a group rather than individually throughout the year," said Dr. Tim Crowley, chair of the Department of Music.
The recital is a chance for students, faculty and community members to listen to the music professor's talents outside the classroom.
The evening will feature performances by Dr. Jennifer Rhyne, instructor of music, flute; Kay Werth, instructor of music, oboe; Brad Dawson, assistant professor of music, trumpet; Kristin Pisano, instructor of music, clarinet; Dr. David Kassler, assistant professor of music, euphonium; Matt Means, assistant professor of music, violin: Dr. Dan Delisi, associate professor of music, cello; Kathleen Flynn, instructor of music, mezzo-soprano; Dr. James Brown, assistant professor of music, tenor; and Dr. Junghwa Lee, assistant professor of music, piano.
The recital will run approximately one hour and 20 minutes with an intermission and will feature several duets, trios and individual performances.
Tickets for adults are $6, children over 12 and seniors are $4. All children under 12 and FHSU students receive free admission.
