To educate small business owners about marketing their products and services to government entities, the Fort Hays State University Kansas Small Business Development Center in cooperation with the Heartland Procurement Technical Assistance Center is offering a workshop from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the FHSU KSBDC, 108 W. 10th St.
Business owners will learn how to target local, state and federal government contracting opportunities as well as learn where to find government offices through the services of a procurement assistance center and where to locate information about government contracting on the Internet.
Focus will be on marketing to government, government market share, classifying business (products/services), Procurement Technical Assistance Program information, acquisition laws and regulations, government registrations and certifications, and Heartland PTAC assistance services.
The KSBDC is offering this workshop as a way for Kansas businesses to utilize government entities, which represent the world's largest market.
This workshop is primarily targeted towards manufacturers, suppliers, construction companies and service providers, although any small business owner may attend.
Registration for the workshop is $25 and must be completed by Tuesday, Oct. 12.
