Fort Hays State University's Student Affairs office will celebrate International Education Week from Nov. 15 to 19, culminating in an International Fair at The Mall in Hays on Nov. 20.
According to FHSU Student Affairs office, International Education week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. The U.S. Departments of State and Education is part of an effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and have an exchange experience in the United States.
The events are being celebrated this year thanks to a $1,800 grant from the National Association of Foreign Student Advisors. The grant will help with promotion and advertising costs as well as the purchase of supplies for K-12 arts and crafts, a guest speaker and expansion of activities during the week.
The event is free and open to the public. Schools, civic organizations, businesses and community organizations are encouraged to participate.
