Fort Hays State University's Division of Academic Affairs has announced the following personnel changes for the 2004-2005 academic year:
-- Dr. Steve Williams -- dean, College of Business and Leadership.
Williams assumes his new duties after serving for a year as chair of FHSU's Department of Management and Marketing. He was previously associate dean in the Jesse H. Jones College of Business at Texas Southern University. His doctorate is from the University of Nebraska.
-- Dr. Guy "Ed" Mills -- dean, College of Education and Technology.
Mills assumes the deanship after two similar experiences as dean at Pacific University and Minnesota State University, Moorhead. His doctorate is from the University of Missouri.
-- Cynthia Elliott -- assistant provost for Strategic Partnerships and dean of
Distance Learning. Elliot previously served as dean of FHSU's Virtual College.
-- Dr. Jeff Briggs -- interim dean, College of Health and Life Sciences. This is a
continuing appointment for one academic year.
-- Casey Rackaway -- interim academic affairs marketing specialist. Rackaway has
served as interim marketing specialist working 20 hours per week since April.
-- Dennis King -- director of the Virtual College and Learning Technologies.
-- Dr. Carol Patrick -- chair of the Department of Psychology.
-- Dr. Cheryl Duffy -- chair of the Department of English.
-- Dr. Lianne Connelly -- interim chair of the Department of Nursing.
-- Dr. Amy Finch -- interim chair of the Department of Communication Disorders.
-- Dr. Evelyn Toft -- interim chair of the Department of Modern Languages.
-- Dr. Mary Martin -- interim chair of the Department of Management and Marketing.
-- David Renteria -- interim assistant director of the Virtual College and Coordinator
of the CTELT.
"Searches to fill positions with interim appointments have either been initiated or will be initiated in the near future," said Dr. Larry Gould, Provost.
