Dr. Paul Adams, Anschutz Professor of Education and professor of physics at Fort Hays State University, will conduct a demonstration of 19th-century, one-room school education for O'Loughlin Elementary School fourth-graders from 2-3 p.m. today, March 31, and again on Thursday, April 1, also from 2-3 p.m.

The two groups of fourth-graders will spend an hour in the Plymouth School, an one-room, stone schoolhouse from western Kansas that was moved to the FHSU campus.

Adams said that the hour will include a 20-minute segment in which he and the students will essentially re-enact a lesson from a rural one-room school from the late 1800s.
