FHSU Department of Music honors students

HAYS, KS -- Fort Hays State University's Department of Music honored its 2005 graduates and awarded scholarships for the 2005-2006 academic year at its annual Honors Ceremony May 10 in the Stouffer Lounge of the Memorial Union.

Music graduates for 2005 are listed by hometown, degree and special awards:
Chapman: Ben Markley, bachelor of music in performance and recipient of the Wichita Jazz Festival Outstanding Soloist Award.
Ellis: Travis Keller, bachelor of music in music education and recipient of the Lyle Dilley Band Award.
Hays: Chris Colwell, bachelor of arts in music; Jamie Geist, bachelor of music in performance and recipient of the Henry Edward Malloy Outstanding Graduating Senior Award; Sarah Glassman, bachelor of arts in music; and Luke Johnson, bachelor of arts in music and recipient of the Wichita Jazz Festival Outstanding Soloist Award.

Hays: Alexis Korbe, freshman, Edwin Moyers Memorial Scholarship and Outstanding Freshman Award; Aaron Rockers, senior, William D. Wilkins Memorial Scholarship; and Shelly Wolf, senior, Presser Scholarship.
Leoti: Chris Johnson, Nada Hutchison Scholarship.
Plainville: Michelle Reishus, sophomore, Sigma Alpha Iota Hays Alumni Chapter Scholarship.
Salina: Trevor Duell, 2619 Colonial Lane, sophomore, Glen and Nada Hutchison Scholarship.

Soloist Award; Lianne Kitzis, senior, Sigma Alpha Iota Scholastic Award; and Shelly Wolf, senior, Edwin Moyers Orchestra Award.
Kensington: Emily Bienhoff, senior, Sigma Alpha Iota College Honor Award.
Pratt: Alysha Ladenburger, senior, Donald Stout Choral Award; and Steve Novotny, senior, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonian of the Year.
Salina: Kyle Brown, 649 E. Prescott Road, senior, Wichita Jazz Festival Outstanding Soloist Award.
WaKeeney: Jason Kucerik, Phi Mu Alpha Lyle Dilley Outstanding Probationary Member.
