TOPEKA, KS -- The Kansas Small Business Development Center and its eight regional centers and two outreach centers will celebrate their organization's 20th anniversary by honoring 16 small businesses in a March 17 ceremony in the state Capitol.

The event is scheduled for 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, with the formal presentation ceremony beginning at 3:30 p.m. The site for the ceremony is the second floor of the Capitol in the wing north of the rotunda.

Dr. Edward H. Hammond, president of Fort Hays State University, will serve as master of ceremonies. Fort Hays State serves as the administrator of the KSBDC network, which is a partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Kansas Department of Commerce.

"Since the inception of the program, the KSBDC Network has consulted with more than 73,000 clients and has conducted in excess of 3,500 workshops with more than 65,000 entrepreneurs in attendance. The KSBDC marks its 20th anniversary with a renewed commitment to not only meeting the emerging needs of Kansas businesses and entrepreneurs, but also to exceeding their expectations!"
