Students, faculty, staff and community members will have the chance to celebrate the beginning of the 2004-2005 academic year on Monday, Aug. 23, from 5-7 p.m. at the Back-to-School Picnic in the Fort Hays State University Quad.
The picnic, which is a part of AugustFest, will provide a meal for those in attendance for only $3, unless they are a student on the campus meal plan, in which case it is free.
The University Activities Board will sponsor live entertainment, the Blue Healers, a classic rock and blues band. They will also provide novelty activities such as free caricatures and candle art.
TigerWild will sponsor tug-of-war games that will have prizes.
Besides music and games FHSU students will have a chance to visit with different campus organizations at booths in the Quad giving them a chance to get involved.
