Small Business Development Center partners with Pollution Prevention Institute to host workshop
08/09/2004

Fort Hays State University's Small Business Development Center and Kansas State University's Pollution Prevention Institute (PPI) will host a workshop on Sept. 10 to educate small businesses about the environmental impacts of a small business and how pollution prevention can reduce those impacts.

According to the PPI, any business that uses solvents, paints or generates wastes will benefit from this workshop. Such businesses would include dry cleaners, auto service and repair shops, print shops, salvage yards and dentists.

Case studies over common pollution prevention opportunities for several industries will be discussed as well as what state and federal regulations might affect their operations.

Time will be set aside to discuss questions about specific operations and to make appointments for individual site assessments and assistance by the PPI.
