FHSU promotes, tenures 20 faculty members

Black ribbons with gold lettering announced the guests of honor at a reception Tuesday for Fort Hays State University faculty who were promoted, granted tenure or both.

The reception was in the Stouffer Lounge of the Memorial Union on the FHSU campus.

Seven faculty members received both tenure and a promotion from assistant professor to associate professor:
Dr. Christopher Crawford, leadership studies; Dr. Douglas Drabkin, philosophy; Linda Ganstrom, art; Dr. Ernst Hintz, modern languages; Dr. Amy Kallam, psychology; Dr. Stephen Kitzis, psychology; and Dr. Steven Sedbrook, health and human performance.

Six faculty received tenure:
Dr. Paul Adams, associate professor of physics; Dr. Nancy Blume, assistant professor of nursing; Dr. Loretta Dorn, assistant professor of chemistry; Dr. Scott Hansen, associate professor of business administration; Dr. James Heian, associate professor of business administration; and Dr. Josephine Squires, assistant professor of political science and justice studies.

Seven other faculty members were promoted:
Dr. Joseph Aistrup was promoted from associate professor to professor of political science and justice studies.
Susan Boos was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of nursing.
Dr. Amy Finch was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of communication disorders.
Dr. Thomas Johansen was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor of economics and finance.
Dr. Kenneth Olson was promoted from associate professor to professor of psychology.
Dr. Jean Anna Sellers was promoted from associate professor to professor of computer and information systems.
Dr. Zoran Stevanov was promoted from associate professor to professor of art.
