FHSU Accounting Club providing Volunteer Income Tax Assistance through April 8

With just a little over two months left before the final date to turn in taxes, the Fort Hays State University Accounting Club is offering free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance to the community.

To qualify for the VITA tax help at FHSU, community members must have an annual gross income under $35,000 and file form1040EZ, 1040A, or 1040. Help can also be provided with Schedule A, itemized deductions, and Schedule B, interest and dividends.

The VITA site is located on the FHSU campus in McCartney Hall, room 205. Volunteers will help every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. till noon during the month of February. Assistance will also be offered on March 4, 11 and 18 as well as April 1 and 8.

Those who will receive help need to be sure and bring their W-2s, 1099s and last year's return.
