FHSU's annual tree lighting ceremony to ring in the Christmas season

The Fort Hays State University community as well as the Hays community are invited to get into the holiday spirit with the traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:30 p.m. today, Dec. 1, outside Sheridan Hall's front entrance on the FHSU campus.

The program will include a holiday performance from the Fort Hays Singers. University President Edward H. Hammond and Debra Prideaux, executive director of Alumni and Governmental Relations, will also assist with the program.

Santa Claus is expected to make an appearance to distribute toys to children.

Immediately after the festivities, complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be served in Dreiling Lobby located in Sheridan Hall.

The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is sponsored by the Student Alumni association and Wendy's Restaurant of Hays.
