Fort Hays State University's Debra Ring, AmeriCorps director, and Dr. Jean Gleichsner, associate professor of agriculture, have recently been chosen by the Kansas State University Community Service Program to serve as service-learning faculty consultants for the State of Kansas during the 2003-2004 academic year.

Ring and Gleichsner are both currently involved in the program but will receive further training. They will be able to provide support to Kansas higher education faculty who want to learn how to add a service-learning and civic engagement component to their curriculum.

The program is funded by a grant from the Corporation for National and Community Service
