FHSU Rodeo Team competes at Pratt Community College

Fort Hays State University's men's and women's rodeo teams competed Oct. 11-12 at Pratt Community College. The competition involved more than 500 contestants. FHSU men placed fifth and the women placed third.

FHSU senior Bernie Boeser, Stapleton, NE, took the fourth place overall ranking in saddle bronc riding. Boeser is currently ranked sixth in the Central Plains Region for saddle bronc riding.

Gerald Collins, Winona junior, placed fourth in steer wrestling. Cole Camac, Augusta sophomore, also placed sixth in final rankings for steer wrestling.

Lana Stueve, Olpe senior, ranked first in breakaway roping overall and is currently ranked third overall in breakaway roping in the Central Plains Region.

The following members of the rodeo team competed at PCC:

Augusta: Charlie Bacon, sophomore, and Cole Camac, sophomore.
Alta Vista: Haley Swartz, sophomore.
Bonner Springs: Josh Bosley, freshman.
Cuba: Garet Havel, senior.
Ellis: Shane Sommers, junior.
Enterprise: Randy Purdue, junior.
Hays: Cord Sprague, freshman, and Justin Herl, junior.
Lacrosse: Matt Miller, freshman.
Olpe: Lana Stueve, senior.
Protection: Haley Hazen, freshman.
Tribune: Tanner Nolan, freshman.
Wilmore: Toby Snyder, senior.
Winona: Gerald Collins, junior.

NATIONAL
Hyannis, NE: Carver Abbott, freshman.
Stapleton, NE: Bernie Boeser, senior, and Luke Boeser, senior.
Burwell, NE: Adam Clark, senior.
