Sally Schmidt, Fort Hays State University assistant professor of nursing, is using some recent training to assess how genetic content is integrated in the new bachelor of science in nursing curriculum.

Schmidt completed the Web-Based Genetics Institute hosted by the Human Genetics Division of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. The institute's 218 required contact hours covered basic human, molecular and clinical genetics and genetic nursing.

With this knowledge, Schmidt serves as a resources person in the area of genetics for the Department of Nursing faculty.
