In honor of the Halloween season, three Fort Hays State University student organizations, Communication Club, Players Club and Tau Kappa Epsilon, are hosting a haunted house from Sunday, Oct. 26, through Thursday, Oct. 30, at 209 W. Fifth St. in Hays.
Thrills will last from 7-11 p.m. each night. The haunted house will also be open two extra hours on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m., for Kids Night.
Children age 12 and under and FHSU students with student ID will be admitted for $3 each. All others will be charged $5. On Sunday, designated Family Night, families will be admitted at a discounted rate.
"We plan for the spooks and thrills to be kid- and family-friendly on Sunday and from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday," said Christina Davidson, Claflin senior and haunted house committee member, "but everyone is welcome to come whenever they can make it."
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to a local non-profit organization.
J.J. Wright, Hays senior and Communication Club president, said, "It's a unique opportunity we have to work with two other campus organizations to serve the community. We are anxious to play a reverse role and give others a chance to enjoy the haunted house experience."
