Fort Hays State University's Center for Teaching Excellence and Learning Technology has awarded two scholarships for the fall 2004 semester.
Beth Schiel, wife of CTELT instructional technologist Jared Schiel, and Andy Tincknell, CTELT video production specialist, were awarded the CTELT scholarships.
The award is given each semester to employees and spouses and dependents of CTELT employees.
"It's a way to promote professional development among staff," said Dennis King, director of CTELT. "It helps emphasize that the university cares about its employees. It's like saying 'we want to thank you and your family for your work.' "
All applicants are required to write a paper on their plans and objectives. Grades are also considered for the award.
King said that the scholarship amount varies each semester between $100-$250. The amount is based upon available funds.
