Artwork by Zhimin Guan (za MEEN gwaan), "Jimmy," Fort Hays State University alumnus, will go on display Oct. 2 at an opening reception from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Moss-Thorns Gallery of Art in Rarick Hall on the FHSU campus.

According to Gordon Sherman, associate professor of art, Guan was trained mainly in classical Chinese style, using a lot of repetition.

He said, "The essence of the show will be figurative, with some abstract art."

The artwork will be on display until Oct. 30.
