Fort Hays State University's 19th Annual Family Picnic, open to all faculty, staff, students, their families and members of the community, is scheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, in the Quad.
The picnic is a back-to-school celebration catered by Chartwells, the campus food service provider. Block and Bridle students will help serve the meal, which includes barbecued beef sandwiches, coleslaw, baked beans, corn, watermelon, dessert and a drink, all for only $2.50 per plate.
Blue Healers will provide the musical entertainment. The University Activities Board is sponsoring a caricaturist and an airbrush tattoo artist.
Representatives from student organizations and local University Card merchants will also sponsor booths. Student groups interested in sponsoring a booth should contact the Student Affairs office at 628-5824 to reserve a table.
In the case of inclement weather, the picnic will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 26.
