FHSU faculty prepares for a new academic year

Fort Hays State University will welcome faculty back to school and President Edward H. Hammond will reveal his theme for the year in his State of the University speech at the annual General Faculty Meeting Wednesday, Aug. 20.

The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center. The State of the University speech will be followed by the introduction of new FHSU faculty by Provost Larry Gould. This will be followed by the Faculty Senate's welcome, presented by Dr. Carol Patrick, associate professor of psychology.

The 2003 Teacher/Innovator of the Year Award and the Edmund C. Shearer Faculty Advisor of the Year Award will also be presented.

Gould will also present the 2003 Recruitment Awards. The final presentation at the general meeting will be the 2003 President's Distinguished Scholar Award by President Hammond.
