As part of its continuing commitment to develop a comprehensive information technology and economic development network throughout Kansas, Kansas Technology Enterprises Corporation is sponsoring the Telepower? '03: e-Vision Your Future? conference to be held Oct. 15 and 16, 2003, in Salina.
Other organizations sponsoring the conference include Fort Hays State University, Southwestern Bell, Aquila, State Independent Telephone Association, Rural/Nex-Tech, and Dr. Robert Cox with the Hays Medical Center.
The 12th annual conference hosted by FHSU's Docking Institute, Telepower? provides rural community leaders with knowledge and skills to use information technology and telecommunications as tools for rural and community development. Sessions will be presented on how technology can be used for e-commerce, telemedicine, workforce training, rural development and education.
This year's conference will include exciting main street success stories as well as information on main street development, information technology in education, web site development, IT policy and internet marketing. A tour of Smoky Hills Vineyards, a successful agri-tourism draw right in the heart of Kansas, is also in the agenda.
