Graduate and upper-level undergraduate students at Fort Hays State University and children in grades first through seventh will benefit from a new tutoring service that started on Monday, June 23.
The university's Reading Service Center is offering the service to enhance children's reading skills, and to give FHSU students enrolled in the Correction of Reading Disabilities and Internship course a chance to gain hands-on experience.
Eighteen tutoring sessions will be offered throughout the summer. Classes will be from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday through Thursday each week, in the center, Rarick Hall, room 233, on the FHSU campus.
Parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from the sessions. A fee of $20 is required to cover the cost of tutorial materials.
Enrollment forms are available in the teacher education office in Rarick Hall, room 244, or can be obtained by calling (785) 628-4204.
