A breathing, speaking human patient simulator will now enhance Fort Hays State University's Department of Nursing by providing hands-on learning experience.
The mannequin, named SimMan, will assist in teaching students basic assessment skills, manual skills, medication injection skills and advanced life saving techniques.
The mannequin will interact with a computer to allow students to learn electrocardiograph rhythms and visualize the tracings on a patient monitor.
SimMan was purchased with a contribution given by John E. and Grace M. Bohannon. |
