Four Fort Hays State University students participated in the 2003 Kansas Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture Crops Judging Contest at Kansas State University on March 15.
The contest consisted of four different categories, including math, plant and seed identification, agronomic quiz and lab practical.
Students who participated in the contest were Adam Lay, Alta Vista freshman; Adam Jessee, Benkelman, NE, sophomore; Cody Graham, Hays senior; and Matt Deyle, Imperial, NE, senior.
The KACTA contest is a regional contest that is held before the North American Association of Colleges and Teachers of Agriculture contest, which was from April 4-5 in Murfreesboro, TN.
Deyle was the only student competing for awards at that competition and he placed sixth individually. The other team members also competed.
