Members of the public have the opportunity to discuss and comment on a proposed grant for the Fort Hays State University Campus Police Department at a hearing scheduled for 1 p.m. March 26, 2003, in the conference room of the Brooks Building on the FHSU campus.
The hearing, in conjunction with a meeting of the grant advisory board, is for discussion on grant application SYS2003 LLEBG and Kansas Criminal Justice Coordinating Council's decision to award the FHSU Police Department $2,052 in federal funding for the acquisition and use of mobile computer technology for public safety issues.
This project was supported by Grant No. LLEBG2003-18, awarded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice, to the Kansas Criminal Justice Anti-Drug Grant Program.
The grant advisory board is comprised of Ed Harbin, Ellis County sheriff; Tom Drees, Ellis County attorney; Phil Fielder, clerk of the District Court; Shirley Adams, Northwest Family Shelter Board of Directors; Steve Culver, director of Residential Life, FHSU; Sue Rouse, United Way; Ed Howell, project director & detective, FHSU Police Department; and Mike Drees, director of accounting services at FHSU and fiscal officer for SYS2003. |
