FHSU livestock judging team places 14th in Houston

After competing against 22 teams from across the nation, the Fort Hays State University livestock judging team placed 14th overall at the Houston Livestock Show on March 3-12 in Houston.

The team placed fourth in halter horse judging and 13th in oral reasons.

Kolby Burch, livestock judging coach, said the progression the team is making is encouraging to him.

"The team is progressing forward and is beginning to beat teams that consistently beat us earlier in the spring," he said. "A couple teams that we were barely beating earlier in the year are now being conquered by us with ease."

Team members who competed are listed below by hometown.

CONCORDIA: Bo Ringer, junior.
HIAWATHA: Brandon Gibson, senior.
LARNED: Levi Mitzner, junior.
PENOKEE: Tressie Bryant, junior.
