FHSU employees, alumni pitch in to create Ladies Fair scholarship

Employees and alumni of Fort Hays State University have come together to raise money for a scholarship to be given away at the Mix 103 Ladies Fair on March 22 in Hays.

The $200 scholarship is open to any woman who attends the Ladies Fair held at the Holiday Inn and registers. The drawing is only open to those individuals not currently enrolled at FHSU.

"There are so many doors that can be opened with education," said Lisa Heath, one of the contributors to the scholarship. The scholarship can be used to enroll in undergraduate, graduate or Virtual College classes for either the summer or fall semester. Alumni also contributed to make the scholarship possible.

"Getting my degree was the first thing I've done for 'me' in a long time" said December graduate Lucy Crowell. "FHSU made it easy with flexible programs and Virtual College courses which allowed me to work full-time and still obtain a master's degree."
