Fort Hays State University's Astronomy Club will sponsor an Observatory Open House from 7:30-10 p.m. on Friday, March 7, in Tomanek Hall, room 106.
They also host open observing time from 8-10 p.m. every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays on the Observation Deck of Tomanek Hall.
The open house will begin with a presentation titled "Birth, Life, and Death of the Universe." The public will then be invited to view Jupiter, Saturn, the moon and the Orion nebula with the club's telescopes.
The public is also invited to attend open observing time to look through the telescopes at Jupiter, Saturn and other celestial wonders. This program will only be available on clear nights when the university is in session. After April 1, the observing time will change to 9-11 p.m.
There is no charge for either event.
