Jane Anthony Peterson, assistant professor of nursing at Fort Hays State University, was the lead author of an article in the November-December 2002 issue of Public Health Nursing.

The article, titled "Key Elements for Church-based Health Promotion Programs: Outcome-based Literature Review," proposed seven key elements as having been found to be beneficial in establishing church-based community health promotion programs. The article concluded that health promotion professionals and churches can be dynamic partners in promoting health and wellness.
