Korea's Little Angels Folk Ballet will perform at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall on the Fort Hays State University campus.
Earlier that day, the ballet company will also take part in lectures and demonstrations for area elementary schools.
The Little Angels, an ensemble of 40 dancers from age 8 to 15, present Korean dancing and music. Drawing on 5,000 years of tradition, the troupe presents vignettes from Korean legend and folklore. The company has given more than 6,000 performances in more than 50 countries.
Their appearance at FHSU, as part of the university's Special Events Committee's Encore Series, was made possible by a grant from the Heartland Arts Fund. The fund is a joint venture of regional arts organizations, Arts Midwest and Mid-America Arts Alliance. It serves a 15-state region to help presenters of music, theatre, opera and dance introduce professional artists from outside their home states to local audiences.
Tickets will be available beginning Jan. 15 at the Student Service Center in Memorial Union on the FHSU campus. Reserved ticket prices are $16 for the general public; $14 for senior citizens and those younger than 18; and $12 for FHSU students. Unreserved tickets art $12, $10 and $7, respectively.
