The Center for Teaching Excellence and Learning Technology at Fort Hays State University has been awarded the Crystal Award of Excellence by The Communicator Awards organization.

CTELT's award-winning entry was a recruiting video created last summer for the Athletics Department: "Do You Have What It Takes to be a Tiger?" Andy Tincknell, video production specialist, was the primary producer.

The Crystal Award of Excellence is the top award given by The Communicator Awards, an international awards program founded by communications professionals to recognize excellence in the communication field.

In 2001 CTELT received a finalist award from the same organization.

"Do You Have What It Takes to be a Tiger?" was entered in the Video/Film/Multimedia Productions category in the Video Competition, which also has a Broadcast/Cable Commercials category and another for Broadcast/Cable Programs/News/Promos.

Awards are also given in print and audio competitions.
