FHSU professor recognized by Specialty Board on Fluency Disorders

Fort Hays State University's Dr. Marcia Bannister, chair of the Department of Communication Disorders and professor of communication disorders, was recently recognized as a fluency specialist by the Specialty Board on Fluency Disorders.

The main goal of specialty recognition is to improve the treatment of people who stutter.

Specialty recognition began in 1991 and went into effect in 1997 with the approval of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. Specialists are located in 48 states as well as the District of Columbia, Canada and Israel.
