HAYS, KS -- Ryan Harms has been named the new assistant alumni director of the Fort Hays State University Alumni Association following a nationwide search.
Harms will be responsible for planning and implementing a variety of alumni activities, programs and services, as well as developing and fostering relationships with alumni and friends. He will also serve as the co-sponsor of the FHSU Student Alumni Association, a 30-member, select organization dedicated exclusively to advancing alumni and admissions relations.
"We are pleased that Ryan has agreed to accept this position," said Debra Prideaux, FHSU executive alumni director. "His strong academic background, as well as his experience in alumni and advancement work, is a perfect match for the direction the association is heading this century."
Harms earned a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology in 2000 and a master of science in leisure studies in 2002, both from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He served most recently as the assistant director in the University of Illinois College of Education in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. He is well versed in the principles of administration, marketing and business.
Harms and his wife, Brea, Area Manager of Parts & Service Sales for John Deere, live in Hays.
