FHSU's Music Department to perform Bach's 'St. Matthew Passion' in Sunday concert

Fort Hays State University's Music Department orchestra, choirs and faculty will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's monumental "St. Matthew Passion" at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1, in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall on the FHSU campus.

" This is the greatest of all musical settings of the Biblical story of Christ's Passion," said Dr. Dan Delisi, associate professor of music and conductor of the Hays Symphony Orchestra.

" It has enthralled audiences with its power and pathos, its expression and emotion for nearly three centuries," he said.

Tickets -- $6 for adults, $4 for senior and students over the age of 12, free for FHSU students with ID and for students under the age of 12 -- are available at the door. For more information contact the Music Department at 785-628-4533.
