Fort Hays State University's Music Department orchestra, choirs and faculty will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's monumental "St. Matthew Passion" at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1, in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center in Sheridan Hall on the FHSU campus.
" This is the greatest of all musical settings of the Biblical story of Christ's Passion," said Dr. Dan Delisi, associate professor of music and conductor of the Hays Symphony Orchestra.
" It has enthralled audiences with its power and pathos, its expression and emotion for nearly three centuries," he said.
Tickets -- $6 for adults, $4 for senior and students over the age of 12, free for FHSU students with ID and for students under the age of 12 -- are available at the door. For more information contact the Music Department at 785-628-4533. |
