Fort Hays State University professors Dr. Germaine Taggart, associate professor of teacher education, and Dr. Paul Adams, Anschutz professor of education and professor of physics, presented a paper, "Student Misconceptions When Discovering the Powers of Ten" at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics 2005 Annual Meeting and Exposition held in Anaheim, CA, from April 6-9.

FHSU faculty who also co-authored the work, as part of a National Science Foundation Grant, were Dr. John Heinrichs, associate professor of geosciences, Dr. James Hohman, professor and chair of the Department of Chemistry, and Dr. Ervin Eltze, retired professor of mathematics and computer science.
