Annual High School Art Exhibition opens April 20 in Gross Memorial Coliseum

About 1,500 student artists from more than 70 high schools in Kansas will exhibit their work on Wednesday, April 20, at the 31st annual High School Art Exhibition sponsored by the Department of Art at Fort Hays State University.

The art work will be displayed in Gross Memorial Coliseum. Judges this year are John C. Thorns Jr., professor and chair emeritus, FHSU Department of Art; Kathleen Kuchar, professor emeritus, FHSU; and Darrell McGinnis, professor emeritus, FHSU. Certificates of recognition will be given to students with outstanding art.

The exhibit is open to the pubic from 10 a.m. until noon. Admission is free.

Allen Craven, assistant professor of art, is director of the exhibition.
