Agriculture honor society at FHSU inducts five, holds annual Agriculture Quiz Bowl

Fort Hays State University's chapter of Delta Tau Alpha, the agriculture honor society, recently initiated members for the spring 2005 semester. To join, students must have at least 45 credit hours, of which at least nine are agriculture hours, and they must rank in the top 35 percent of their class.

This semester's initiates are Jennifer Gigax, Hayes Center, NE, senior; Andrew Mills, Stratton, CO, senior; Chase Ostmeyer, Oakley junior; Tucker Sexson, Weskan junior; and Cody Solomon, Shelton, NE, sophomore.

Delta Tau Alpha also held its 12th Annual Agriculture Quiz Bowl on March 8. Three-member teams answered questions in the following areas: animal science, soils, crop science and agribusiness. The first place team was Jody Gienger, St. Francis senior; Jared Myers, Arapahoe, CO, junior; and Sexson.
