Fort Hays State University's Small Business Development Center will offer contractors and those who need to know about standards set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration a chance to learn on March 1 and 2, with the OSHA Safety Training workshop.
The program, which is based on the 10-hour construction industry training agenda, is scheduled to take place at the Sternberg Museum of Natural History, 3000 Sternberg Drive, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on March 1 and 8 a.m.-12 p.m. on the March 2.
Topics will include an introduction to OSHA, fire protection, machine guarding, and hazard communications. Additional topics like fall protection, scaffold safety, power tools and excavation will also be presented.
Upon completion of the course, those in attendance will be qualified to educate on OSHA topics and will receive a course completion card for the 10-hour training.
The cost of the workshop is $150 if registered by Feb. 22. Late registration will cost $180.
