Small Business Development Center to offer tax workshops in February

Whether you're trying to start a new business or you're just trying to figure out how to do the taxes for a business this month, the Fort Hays State University Small Business Development Center is offering courses and workshops in the Hays, Colby and Great Bend areas on how to start up a business and how to take care of taxes.

In the Hays area, a start-up workshop is scheduled for 8:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 9 and again on Feb. 23 at the SBDC office, 109 W. 10th. Hays area residents will also have a chance to go to a small business tax workshop from 1-4 p.m. and a contractor tax workshop from 6-8 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the Sternberg Museum of Natural History, 3000 Sternberg Drive.

In Colby the start-up workshop is scheduled for 8:30-11:30 a.m. Feb. 11 at the Colby Chamber of Commerce, 350 S. Range. The small business tax workshop will be from 1-4 p.m. and contractor tax workshop from 6-8 p.m., both on Feb. 15 at the Chamber of Commerce.

The start-up workshop in Great Bend is scheduled for 1-4 p.m. on Feb. 10 at the Great Bend Chamber of Commerce, 1307 Williams St., and the small business tax workshop and contractor tax workshop are scheduled for Feb. 17 at the Golden Belt 1-Stop, 1025 Main St. The small business tax workshop is scheduled to run from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and the contractor tax workshop is planned for 1-3 p.m.
