Bat Boy to be performed at FHSU

The Fort Hays State University Players will be performing in what director Michael Hogwood, instructor of communication studies, calls "an exciting and unique production" March 4-6 and 11-13. Bat Boy, a musical, is a stage adaptation of a character from the news tabloid the Weekly World News.

Hogwood said the musical is about an outcast, Bat Boy, coming to a normal little town were his presence raises the question of what is truly normal.

Joseph Galante, Hays junior, will play Bat Boy, Laura Decker, Lindsborg junior, will play Meredith, and Bill Brown, Hays resident, will play Meredith's husband, Dr. Parker. Rachel Hogwood, costumer for the Department of Communication Studies, will play the Parkers' daughter Shelly.

Cody Hughs, Leoti graduate student, said the musical will provide something really exciting for everyone, with musical styles ranging from rock to rap to Gospel.

Bat Boy will be in the Felten-Start Theatre located in Malloy Hall at 8 p.m. each night.
