Medical society funds scholarship at FHSU; Smith Center junior is first recipient

A scholarship for the spring 2005 semester has been donated to the Fort Hays State University Endowment Association by the Central Kansas Medical Society and Alliance.

The gift will fund a scholarship for a junior or senior at Fort Hays State University majoring in nursing with a minimum 3.0 grade point average. The scholarship recipient must also be a Kansas resident.

The FHSU Nursing Department granted the scholarship to April Merritt of Lebanon, KS. Merritt is a junior majoring in nursing and is a graduate of Smith Center High School.
