Annual tree lighting scheduled for Dec. 2 in FHSU's Sheridan Hall

Fort Hays State University students, faculty and staff as well as the greater Hays community are invited to attend the university's traditional Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, outside the front entrance of Sheridan Hall.

Sponsored by the FHSU Student Alumni Association, this event features holiday music by the Fort Hays Singers and the actual lighting of the tree by President Edward H. Hammond. Winners of an SAA-sponsored children's coloring contest, in which area elementary children participated, will also be announced.

Santa is expected to make a special appearance to distribute children's toys donated by Wendy's. Complimentary hot chocolate and treats, also donated by Wendy's, will be served following the Tree Lighting Ceremony in Sheridan Hall's Dreiling Lobby.
