FHSU's Sternberg Museum to feature 'Magical Spectacles' presentation

Fort Hays State University's Sternberg Museum of Natural History will feature a presentation by Kim Perez, FHSU instructor of history, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, in the Engel Education Center.

Perez will present "Seeing the World Through 'Magic Spectacles': Imagination and Nature Study at the Turn of the Century," which will explore the incorporation of imagination and sympathy by the writers of natural history during the 19th and early 20th centuries.

During her talk, Perez will examine the imaginative and emotionally based natural history books that were being written for children at that time.
