Several Fort Hays State University employees attended the 10th annual Kansas Academic Advising Network conference at Hutchinson Community College in September.
Staff and faculty that attended included Kirstie Auzqui, assistant senior women's administrator for student athlete services and compliance; Carolyn Bird, assistant athletic director; Maggie Denning, coordinator of academic support services; Dr. Patricia Griffin, director of Academic Advising and Career Exploration Center; Kenton Olliff, coordinator of clinical and counseling services; Lisa Reed, coordinator of undecided student advisement and career counseling; and Carol Solko, coordinator of international and disabled student services.
At the conference Bird presented "The Athlete Checklist for Advising" and Denning and Solko presented "And the Gold Medal in Parental Endurance Goes To"
Also Olliff was named the Best of State Presenter for his presentation "Roll With It," and Griffin was recognized as conference chairperson for her commitment to KAAN. She will continue on the KAAN Steering Committee with her role as co-chair for the 2004 NACADA Region 7 Conference.
