Students from the Advanced Technology Student Organization and the National Broadcast Society of Fort Hays State University recently took a field trip to Kansas City.
The tour included the regional office of Cisco Systems Inc., the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet; River City Studios, a Web development studio; Video Post Productions; KSHB TV; Honeywell; and several divisions of the Sprint Communications Company.
In the past, this trip has led to student internships and full-time employment.
"We all learn a great deal about the activities, needs and opportunities available in the host organizations," said Dr. Mark Bannister, chair of the Department of Information Networking and Telecommunications.
